Member Benefits

CIR actively seeks to improve the quality of life for its members and their families by including benefits as an integral part of the collective bargaining process. CIR continuously monitors the benefits that residents are receiving and looks to improve those benefits or fill the gaps where benefit programs are deficient. Depending on location, there are a variety of CIR-negotiated benefits.

Notice On The Privacy and Accountability Law (HIPAA)

In 2003, as a result of federal laws, specifically the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and changes in regulations from the Department of Labor (DOL), health insurance plans such as ours must change our guidelines.   These changes affect both the House Staff Benefits Plan in California, Massachusetts and New York and the Voluntary Hospitals House Staff Benefits Plan in New Jersey and New York .
