Town Halls & Lobby Visits
CIR doctors took their case for reform directly to the decision makers in the House and Senate throughout the summer. Whether it was through visits in their offices, the give-and-take of a town hall, or even as invited speakers at event arranged by Congressional offices, CIR stepped up to make the case that our patients simply couldn’t wait for health care reform any longer.

Washington, DC: "We Can't Wait for Health Care" Rally and Town Hall
CIR doctors joined hundreds of health care providers to lobby Congress, participate in a rally outside the Capitol, and joined Gov. Howard Dean, Sen. Debbie Stabenow, and Rep. Jan Schakowsky at a town hall.

CIR leaders from Los Angeles and the Bay area met with Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s Health Care Field representative John Murray and presented 40 letters in support of health care reform.
Queens, NY: Rep. Gregory Meeks Town Hall, York College, NY.
CIR doctors from Jamaica Hospital spoke about the huge overcrowding of the ER due to the closing of nearby Mary Immaculate Hospital – an extra 800 a day.
