Labor-Management Meetings Get Results

CIR delegates and active members discussed implementation of new contract provisions and other resident concerns at the monthly Labor-Management meeting on July 17. Residents gave feedback to GME and HR administrators on this year’s orientation, and discussed a series of other issues, including implementation USMLE Step 3 reimbursement, bike safety and parking concerns.

After many discussions on the Lomas parking structure and a formal grievance, a gate will be installed, and a card swipe at all pedestrian entrances. UNM police will monitor the gate during rush hour. The administration agreed to these changes by the end of August.  In the meantime, UNMH security are stationed in the Lomas structure to direct patients to separate lots so that residents can be assured of a parking space.
