60th Anniversary

Join the Committee of Interns and Residents as we celebrate 60 years of advocacy! Since 1957, CIR has been the national union and voice for resident physicians; fighting for health justice and resident well-being. As we celebrate #cir60, we take on the issues that mean the most to us: creating a healthy culture of residency, tackling health disparities within our hospitals and our communities, strengthening patient care, and striving for health justice in our ever-changing political climate.

Our brave sisters and brothers fought hard so we could have fair contracts, pay increases, better working conditions, control over patient care, and provisions in place for creating safer work environments. We want to continue this work into the next 60 years!

Check out highlights from our CIR National Convention, held May 5 – 7, 2017 in Philadelphia, during which we welcomed CIR leaders past and present and looked back on our 60-year history while planning for the year ahead!
