All Delegates, Alternate Delegates, and Hospital Representatives are able to stay at the convention hotel at no cost if chosen to share a room with a fellow colleague, who is also attending Convention. If any Delegates, Alternate Delegates, and Hospital Representatives choose to have their own room without sharing, they are subject to a fee of $75 per night, including all taxes and fees. Convention attendees should refer to their individual invitation for instructions on how to book travel. You can also refer to the CIR Convention travel webpage for our travel policies based on region for the convention. [/toggle_content] [toggle_content title=”Will I have time to see the city?”]

The CIR convention is the first and only meeting of all CIR’s leadership from around the country. In order to prepare you for your responsibilities as a CIR leader, the Convention agenda is packed with important programming from morning to the early evening. However, we adjourn in the early evening on Saturday, May 19th and in the early afternoon on Sunday, May 20th. We do require all Delegates, Alternate Delegates, Hospital Representative, Candidates for Executive Committee, Executive Committee, and CIR Staff to attend all of the scheduled convention programming before adjournment unless there are special circumstances limiting your adjournment.

The best way to get to and from the airports is utilizing the Metro System, carpooling with a fellow convention attendees. CIR will reimburse members for Convention related travel using taxis and ride sharing applications. Due to policy positions and decisions made by Uber, CIR strongly encourages members to use other ride hailing applications such as Curb and Lyft. Yes, we ask that you attend the entirety of the convention unless there are special circumstances limiting your attendance. [/toggle_content] [toggle_content title=”Will the materials from convention be available to attendees after the convention?”]

It depends. Any materials found within the convention booklet will be available on the convention website. Any materials provided in workshops will be available at the discretion of the workshop leader. If there is any materials you hope to take with you from a workshop, please consult with the workshop leader before the end of the convention.

One of the most important aspects of being a CIR Delegate, Alternate Delegate, and Hospital Representative is sharing and applying what you learned at the National Convention in your chapters. Please speak to your chapter contract organizer about ways you can bring back what you learned at the convention to your colleagues.
