This May Day, or International Workers Day, dozens of CIR members from D.C. to California joined our union siblings on the streets of our cities to honor the history of the labor movement and to fight for a better future for all of us.
An internationally recognized holiday, established by workers to honor the struggles and victories of our movement across time, May Day is celebrated by workers around the world. This year, thousands of union members in the U.S. rallied, spoke out, and marched to protest the Trump administration and the ongoing control billionaires have over our lives and economy.
Together with workers across industries, CIR members demanded access to quality health care, fair wages and safe working conditions, housing for all, and an end to the attacks on immigrants, trans folks, women, and working people, as well as on our human rights and dissent.
While physicians across the country had a great May Day, University of California San Francisco CIR members spent May Day in the best way possible: with their UPTE union siblings on the picket line.
